I wonder how many of you guys asking them self: "What's that?"
Let's talk about probiotics and why they are so important for our health and well-being. Probiotics are defined as live microorganisms that are believed to provide health benefits when consumed. Our digestive tracts are filled with millions of them. There are actually 10 times more probiotics in your gut then cells in your body! That just short list of how they can help us:
Stronger immune system
Improved digestion
Increased energy from production of vitamin B12
Better breath because probiotics destroy candida (yeasts that can cause of fungal infections)
Healthier skin, since probiotics naturally treat eczema and psoriasis
Reduced cold and flu
Healing from leaky gut syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease
Weight loss
Most people, including children, are in need of a probiotic boost due to the use of prescription medication, particularly antibiotics, as well as high-carbohydrate diets, the consumption of chlorinated and fluoridated water, and conventional foods, such as non-organic meat and dairy that contains antibiotic residues. These chemicals kill off probiotics in your system, which over time damages your digestive tract.
“What we can help our gut flora to be in shape?”
We can include certain types of probiotics foods in our diet. There are few examples:
Yogurt -possibly the most popular probiotic food.
Kefir - similar to yogurt, this fermented dairy product.
Sauerkraut - made from fermented cabbage and other vegetables.
Kimchi - cousin to sauerkraut and is the Korean take on cultured veggies.
Coconut Kefir - made by fermenting the juice of young coconuts with kefir grains, this dairy-free option for kefir.
Natto - a popular dish in Japan consisting of fermented soybeans.
Kombucha - an effervescent fermentation of black tea.
Raw Cheese - goat’s milk, sheep’s milk and aged cheeses are particularly high in probiotics.
Apart of above you can try probiotics supplementation. They are available in health food stores (message me, if you will have problem with finding the right one)
Probiotic side effects can sometimes include diarrhoea if you take too much too fast. You can start off with a smaller amount like one tablespoon of kefir or one probiotic capsule a day and work your way up. But overall, the side effects of probiotics are nothing but positive.
